SUMMARY:Nillumbik Place Shapers
DESCRIPTION:The Nillumbik Place Shaper program\, facilitated by Debby Maziarz Productions\, will give locals the resources and skills to implement their own community projects. \nNillumbik Place Shapers identifies that people must be at the centre of shaping thriving places and will use a placemaking approach to support the delivery of projects to improve a public space. \nThe sessions will be action-based and will support participants to lead their own projects within a supportive Council environment. The process will enable and empower people to create and activate public places they love and feel connected to. From community gardens to pop-up parks\, festivals to public art\, mainstreet improvements to new townships events. These practical placemaking projects transform local spaces\, create vibrant and authentic places\, and\, importantly\, build social capital and connection. \nIt’s free to participate – all you need is an idea and two hours a week to attend the sessions. \nWhat does the program include? \nThe eight-week program includes: \n• Weekly facilitated workshops with experts and community leaders \n• Placemaking and project support \n• Coaching to develop your project idea. \nPlease submit your Expression of Interest by Sunday 18 April. For more information and to apply please visit the Nillumbik Shire Council website.
