We engaged Debby Maziarz to facilitate a ‘Stronger Clubs, Confident Leaders’ session at our Positive Ageing Forum 2025. Debby’s session was a wonderful blend of practical learning and lively team challenges that sparked creativity and fresh thinking among our senior community leaders. She created an environment of praise, encouragement and constructive reflection, helping leaders clearly see what’s working well and where future improvements can be made.

Last week, Brimbank City Council’s new look Community Engagement team came together for a full-day circus-themed planning and culture workshop. The day was a powerful opportunity to reflect on who we are, what we bring, and how we want to work together to deliver impact for our community. Key Outcomes: - A connected, energised, and aligned Community Engagement team - Clearer understanding of roles and processes we need to work on - Shared commitment to working strategically and creatively within resource constraints. - Renewed sense of pride and ownership in our function and contribution to Council and community. Community Engagement is at the heart of how Council connects with and serves our community. This work has strengthened our team’s foundations, clarified roles, and helped us build a strong, values- driven culture. It positions us to deliver meaningful, authentic engagement with our community while working together in a way that is supportive, energised, and future-focused. Big thanks to our ring leader for the day, Debby Maziarz and to Michelle Welsby for curating such a fantastic session. It was wonderful to get our circus on together with Kate Van Lierop, Beatka Provis and Evangelia Bishop (nee Karabatsas).
